This is a very bright light. When triggered it stays on for 20 seconds or so. The solar panel will provide ample power to keep the battery charged (assuming the kids don't get trigger happy with it!). The battery is an 18650, with no markings, but still a good choice.
Well that is the good news. The bad?
It claims ip65 which means it should withstand a jet of water but since I can see inside the unit through both the pir sensor and the led panel, nor is there a rubber seal around the backplate, that is simply not true.
I will use some resin or hot glue to seal the gaps in the pir and panel, and use a little bathroom sealant inside the backplate to make it water/rain proof.
All in all, a nice, usefull pir light (once it has been suitably gunged up).Comments (0)Show Original -
